‘2009  GUYS  ONLY  CAR  TOUR’

May 10 to May 18 plus May 7, 8 & 9 optional early program, 2009

 

The ’09 ‘Guys Tour’ will be a mix of places we’ve visited before plus a big dose of  new venues.  I’ve tried to keep the program fresh and interesting for previous travelers without denying new travelers some of the great things we’ve done in the past.  I have also included a three day ‘Early Option’ for you ‘racers’ out there.

EARLY OPTION

May 7   Arrival in Frankfurt Mainz International Airport and transfer  to the Hotel Motodrom inside the Hockenheim Race Track.  Dinner overlooking the pit straight.

May 8  Morning visit to the Hockenheim Museum and Race Center.  Afternoon private track time with professional drivers in a race tuned RSR Porsche or a fully race prepared Group C sports racer*.

May 9  Morning bus ride to Kerpen and a visit to the ‘Von Trips Museum’.  Lunch and afternoon visit to the Michael Schumacher Kart Center and Museum.  Kart laps will be included.

 

MAIN TOUR PROGRAM

May 10  Arrival at Munich International airport and transfer to central hotelearly tour option will travel from Hockenheim to Munich.  En route a tentative planned visit to Audi.  Dinner at our hotel. 

May 11  Full day visit to BMW factory center and Museum.  Evening visit to the ‘old center’ of Munich.

May 12  Auto related museum visits and performance center in Munich.  Afternoon transfer to Lindau on lake Constance with an evening dinner cruise.

May 13  A full day bus transfer from Lindau to Gardone on Lake Garda incorporating the beautiful scenery of the Austrian Tyrol and Italian Dolomites and en route visit to the Dornbirn Rolls Royce museum.  A late afternoon boat excursion to an idyllic setting on Lake Garda for wine and canapés before returning to the Grand Hotel Gardone for dinner.

May 14  A day in Brescia to view the gathering of the cars for this evenings start of the Mille Miglia.  Early afternoon includes a visit to the Mille Museum.  A late afternoon relax time back on the lake before returning in the evening to view the departing cars our viewpoint being from an outside restaurant on the route.

May 15  This morning a visit to the Museo Nicolis near Verona with lunch in Verona.  This afternoon we continue to nearby Mantova to visit the small museum dedicated to Tazio Nuvolari.  Dinner this evening is at our hotel.

May 16  A morning visit to Lamborghini then lunch in a great village ristorante.  This afternoon includes visits to the Zonta Car Works in Modena plus visits to the Stanguellini Collection and a Balsamic Vinegar producer. The next two nights in Bologna.

May 17  Today we visit Maranello.  The annual ‘Ferrari Passion’ Auction is today and admission is included as also is the almost mandatory visit to the Ferrari Galleria.  Our farewell dinner this evening is at the Montana Ristorante alongside the Ferrari test track of Fiorano.

May 18  This morning we depart for Milan’s Malpensa International Airport and your return to the USA or ongoing travel.

 

Tour Price:  May 10 – 18  $4,250 per person/twin occupancy  $1750 single supplement

                      May 7 – 10 Early Option add $1050 per person/twin occupancy  $375 single supplement *Group C

                      laps an additional $300.

 

Please note dates shown are arrival dates in Gemany – you will need to depart the USA the day prior.  We always advise arriving one day earlier than the tour date to allow for jet lag.  Your international air is not included, however we would be happy to help you with your arrangements.  We are still finding some decent fares out there.

 

MEALS -   Breakfasts are included each day. Lunch or Dinner is included each day except for May 11th & 14th.
